Rethinking education: insights and outlook
Fill combines technology, education and practice in a unique way. With projects such as the FUTURE LAB, the Next World Factory, the Hackathon, the BEE-O LAB and the Next World Academy, learning spaces are created that promote talent and prepare for the challenges of the future.

With our innovative Next World Project and the FUTURE LAB - the “coolest knowledge factory for digital talents and innovative minds” - we have created a unique learning environment for children and young people. Here, we playfully awaken enthusiasm for digitalization, research, innovation, science and technology. Through numerous events such as the Long Night of Apprenticeships, school excursions, Girls Day and career orientation days, we offer exciting insights into our company and open up the diverse training and career opportunities in mechanical engineering to those interested in technology.

Our Team
Digitalization, technology, and social skills—these are the focus of our FUTURE LAB workshops. Our training team accompanies our visitors as they explore and discover their individual talents. We place great importance on knowledge transfer, practical application, and modern equipment. Complemented by experiential learning methods and ongoing development of didactic concepts, the FUTURE LAB is an experience for young and old alike.

10,000 visitors to the FUTURE LAB
On March 10, 2025, the FUTURE LAB broke the visitor record of 10,000 guests with a visit from Aurolzmünster elementary school.
Launch of the MINTelligence Area in the FUTURE LAB app
The learning content of the FUTURE LAB app can now also be used in schools for basic digital education. Pupils can learn interesting facts about various topics in a playful way and compete in a quiz mode.
New FUTURE LAB website
The FUTURE LAB is being expanded to include the Next World Factory and BEE-O Lab. This new website was created to mark the occasion.
HRbert
We are delighted to have received this HR award as a special prize at the "HRbert" for our STEM initiatives! The award, accepted by Eva-Maria Rendl (Head of HR Development) and Philipp Heißbauer (Head of Apprentice Training), recognizes our commitment to innovative educational projects and our promotion and support of young talent.
500th FUTURE LAB workshop
Together with the Mettmach secondary school, FUTURE LAB celebrates the 500th workshop since FUTURE LAB was founded in 2021.
Opening of the Next World Factory
The Next World Factory combines education, technology and sustainability on 180 square meters. The six laboratories Energy Lab, Engineering Lab, Welding Lab, Quality Lab, CNC & E-Technology Lab and Cycle Lab provide apprentices with practical knowledge and in-depth skills in the STEM field. A press conference was held as part of the opening. Andreas Fill, Bettina Fill and Andreas Stangl (President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor) opened the new knowledge factory.
Raphael Zweimüller holds his 222nd workshop
Raphael Zweimüller has been a passionate workshop leader and technician since the FUTURE LAB was founded. Raphael has already held more than 222 workshops at FUTURE LAB with children, young people and adults. Congratulations!
The FUTURE LAB becomes mobile
The Future Lab 2 go contains various labs and digital applications in a compact space of six square meters and is operated with its own FUTURE LAB app. As a mobile exhibition stand, the Future Lab 2 go has been in use at trade fairs and conferences for Fill since 2023

Verena Hohensinn joined the FUTURE LAB team in October 2023 as a workshop leader and contact person for educational institutions.
Regionality Award
With the Regionality Award, the newspaper BezirksRundschau brings the strong performers and local heroes of the regions to the fore. Whether extraordinary projects, committed companies or regional initiatives: the spotlight is shone on those who have made an outstanding contribution to value creation in the regions.

The FUTURE LAB is "paperless"
Paper was yesterday, digitalization is today: With the introduction of our own FUTURE LAB app, all workshop tasks are mapped digitally in order to conserve resources and strengthen the self-directed learning of workshop guests.
New offer: advanced workshops
The existing workshop formats for secondary schools, upper secondary schools and adults will be expanded to include in-depth workshops in individual labs on the topics of robotics, coding, 3D printing, media and artificial intelligence. Visitors will become experts in the respective subject area.
TRIGOS Award
The Trigos Award was presented for the 18th time on September 16, 2021 in the Kuppelsaal at the Technical University (TU) Wien. The TRIGOS is Austria's most prestigious prize for responsible business.
We are very proud to have won in the "Employee Initiatives" category with our concepts for the FUTURE LAB and the Apprentice Challenge. Günter Redhammer (COO Fill) and Eva-Maria Rendl (Team Manager Human Resource Development) accepted the award.
Metalworking industry ideas competition
Getting even more apprentices interested in the metalworking industry - that was the aim of a major ideas competition. A competition that honors creative ideas and new projects to attract more young people - especially women - to the metalworking industry as apprentices.
We are delighted to have come 3rd in this Austria-wide ideas competition. Sandra Murauer (Senior Personnel Development) and Eva-Maria Rendl (Team Manager Human Resource Development) happily accepted the award.
Pegasus
At the award ceremony for the country's most important business prize, the Pegasus, we achieved a sensational first place in the top category “Lighthouses”.
Opening of the FUTURE LAB
In May 2021, the FUTURE LAB opened its doors for the first time and the first workshop was held with a school class.
